The Environmental Controls (Residential Construction) Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) outlines the main hazards and risks associated with bulk earthworks and disturbance of soils when preparing residential building sites for construction and/or landscaping work, including risks of erosion and sedimentation of drains and waterways due to contaminated runoff from earthworks and stockpiles, etc., contamination due to the use of plant and vehicles, and activities having an adverse effect on neighbouring premises.
The Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) provides details of the inspections required to be carried out, and the control measures to be implemented to reduce the likelihood and impact of erosion and sedimentation, noise, chemical and other pollution and disturbance of neighbours when carrying out residential building projects.
