The Tree Trimming and Lopping Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) outlines the main hazards and risks associated with the trimming and lopping of trees where there is no risk of contact with overhead electrical wiring, including risk of falls, falling objects, work in or near traffic, operation of mobile plant, hazardous manual tasks, and noise.
The SWMS does not cover tree trimming near overhead power lines or tree felling or removal.
The SWMS provides details of the safety precautions (including protective clothing and equipment) required when trimming or lopping trees.
